How to Remove/Delete an Email Account in DirectAdmin
This article explains how to remove an existing account from the DirectAdmin control Panel.
Important: Deleting an email account removes the mailbox and its stored emails. Make sure any important emails are backed up before deleting the account.
Prerequisites:
Before proceeding, ensure that you have:
- Access to the DirectAdmin control Panel.
- Permission to manage emails accounts.
- Confirmed that the email account is no longer required.
Steps to Delete an Email Account
Step 1: Log in into Direction Admin
Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel using your username and password.
Step 2: Open E-mail Accounts
From the DirectAdmin dashboard:
- Locate E-mail Manager
- Click E-mail Accounts.
Step 3: Select the Email Account
Locate the email account you want to remove.
Select the checkbox next to the email address
Step 4: Click Delete
After selecting the email account, click Delete.
Step 5: Confirm the Deletion
A confirmation window will appear
Review the email account you are about to remove and click Confirm to delete.
The email account will then be removed from DirectAdmin
Step 6: Verify the Account Was Deleted.
Return to E-mail Accounts and check the list
The deleted email address should no longer appear.
You have successfully removed the email account from DirectAdmin. Always verify that important emails have been backed up before performing the deletion.
